Project Requirements

Red Letter Getaways is the personal site of Winnie Hung, an independent business consultant for Expedia CruiseShipCenters. Winnie approached us to create a website to help promote her skills and services for planning cruise holidays.

A key feature we developed for the site was a "Cruise Finder" which helps visitors find the type of cruise that best suits their personal tastes based on various characteristics (cruise type, budget, lifestyle, etc.).

In addition, the site would need to:

provide information about the products and services available
include an inspirational photo gallery of various cruise destinations
promote an unlimited number of cruises and "Red Letter Deals" cruise specials
highlight Winnie's credentials and experience as a cruise vacation specialist
enable visitors to contact Winnie, or sign up for her newsletter

Implementation

Given the requirement to provide our client with a site that is easy to manage and update frequently, Drupal was the obvious choice for implementation. The site design was created using the powerful, and highly configurable Omega 960gs theme, and content management features were built to the client's specifications using CCK, views and panels.

The end result is a site that is easy to navigate, fun to browse and simple to maintain.

Project Features

Cruise Finder

The Cruise Finder content is controlled by a sophisticated custom data entry form that allows the site owner to provide all details for each cruise type, with a list of relevant cruise lines, photos, and cruise specials. Individual cruise specials can also be featured in the "Red Letter Deals" promotional section of the site.

Photo Gallery

A custom photo gallery form provides the ability to easily upload and manage images that provide an inspirational glimpse of the various cruise destinations.
