Mad Rona's is a new coffee bar located in the brand new Madrona Marketplace on Gabriola Island, BC, that is committed to serving quality, organic fair trade coffee and espresso.
The owners of Mad Rona's Coffee Bar selected The Media Salon to build a new web site that would promote their brand and mirror the urban vibe and relaxing zen-like atmosphere of their contemporary west coast coffee bar.
Implementation
We quickly went to work, creating a sophisticated, yet casual site with a playful character and clean user interface. With a goal of simple content management, Drupal once again was chosen as the perfect framework for achieving success.
A custom content type was developed to enable Mad Rona's to add/edit all menu items with a single, simple to use form. Under the hood, the Views 2 and Panels 3 contributed modules control how all of the site content is displayed.
All of the vibrant photography was produced by The Media Salon and used as canvas for the site pages and striking menu images.

A custom entry form uses a category and sort order field to allow Mad Rona's to control the placement of each menu item.
Elegant Slide-show Form
The stunning images featured in the home page slide-show are all uploaded using a single form, with click and drag re-sorting capability. An unlimited number of images can be uploaded, added, or removed with a single click. Alt-text can also be added for each image for screen readers and enhanced search engine performance.
