Project Requirements

Architrave Design Build Ltd. is a well known building design firm located on Gabriola Island, BC that specializes in creating spaces that meld with the topography of the Pacific Northwest. Their portfolio includes a range of projects, from large, luxurious homes, to very modest homes, additions, and renovations.

The partners at Architrave wanted a website to promote their portfolio and services, with a design that mirrors their passion for functional elegance that blends with the natural surroundings. The site also had to be easy to use and provide robust features to handle the automatic image processing for the image galleries.

Architrave provided us with the design layout requirements for the site and we created a pixel-perfect replica of their blueprint (pun intended!).

Implementation

Drupal was used as the platform for building the site to provide Architrave with the ability to easily manage the content and image galleries.

The site design was created using the powerful, standards compliant Genesis theme for Drupal, and customized content management features were implemented using the CCK, views and panels modules.

Project Features

Point & Click Galleries

Image management for the portfolio gallery provides the site owners with a point and click interface for creating galleries, batch uploading images, and drag & drop sorting of images within each gallery.

News Items

Providing updates on Architrave's projects is dead simple, and like the gallery, all uploaded images are automatically re-sized for proper display and allow site visitors to view the full-size image by clicking on it.
